LOW LEVEL LASER - IT’S COOL…. HOW COOL IS IT?
Low Level Laser Therapy (3LT) has been used worldwide for over 40 years to relieve pain, remove scars, heal wounds, regenerate nerves and solve addictions. On January 17, 2002, the first US Low Level Laser Therapy company, Erchonia, received FDA clearance through clinical trial. This is the laser your pet is being treated with. The laser stimulates a structure within the cell, called the mitochondria, nicknamed the "powerhouse", to produce more ATP, which is our molecular energy. So with more energy at the cell level the tissues heal faster.
“WHAT DOES THIS THING DO AGAIN?”
In a nutshell, 3LT causes tissues to heal faster--muscle, skin and nerve--66% faster according to the above FDA Study. Now veterinarians are using laser protocols.
“WILL LASER HURT MY PET?”
No, This laser is a cold laser, no heat at all. Your pet will not feel a thing. Your pet will not need sedation, nor does your pet really have to hold still. In fact the laser does not cause damage to the cells. It will not cause more harm to your pets injury. You will not see our staff in goggles, or any protective gear with this laser.
WHICH TREATMENT PLAN DOES MY PET FOLLOW?”
The diagnosing veterinarian will discuss your pet's treatment with you. Your veterinarian designs a frequency plan for each specific pet. The technicians, under the doctors guidance, will perform the laser treatments on your pet. Your plan may require your pet to be dropped off for the day. Each laser therapy takes about 15 minutes and has to be done at certain intervals.
