Our Doctors
David Huff, DVM
Practice Owner
Dr. Dave Huff opened the practice in 2003. He graduated from the NC State CVM in May of 1989. He practiced at a small animal facility for 2 years in Pennsylvania and then returned to North Carolina to practice small animal and large animal at Neuse River Veterinary Hospital in Wendell. He also practiced for 4 years at a small animal practice in Beaufort, South Carolina, and then returned to Neuse River Veterinary Hospital in 1999.
He has developed several interests and specialties over the years including a strong interest in small animal surgery. He has been affiliated with ICG/Synbiotics/Zoetis since 1991 as a canine semen freezing center. He was the first such center in North Carolina, and at the time only the 3rd such center on the east coast.
He added PennHip radiograph training and certification in 1996, and has been doing chiropractic care in animals since 1999. He started using the Erchonia 3 LT in July 2009 for his patients.
Jessie Miller, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Jessie Miller joined our team in 2017. She was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. She received her Bachelor’s degree of Science in Biology at Duke University and then attended North Carolina State University for her veterinary degree.
Since she was young, she has always had a passion for caring for animals. Dr. Miller grew up with cats, dogs, hamsters, birds, rabbits, chickens, and fish as part of the family and her love for the family’s animals ignited her interest in veterinary medicine and her love for medicine and problem solving concreted that goal.
After veterinary school, Dr. Miller completed a small animal internship in Charlotte, then moved to Knoxville, TN where she worked as an ER vet for two years.
Dr. Miller re-located to Raleigh with her husband, Jonathan, who is a dentist, and their two dogs. They have a mixed breed dog named Lexi who is spoiled rotten and a boxer mix named Dexter who is a handful. Outside of work, Dr. Miller enjoys taking long walks with her family, reading, and hiking.
Charles Geneczko, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Geneczko joined our team in September 2023. He grew up primarily in the Midwest. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Kalamazoo College in Michigan. During his time there, he completed a year of study abroad in Perth, Australia at Curtin University.
He went on to completed a year of graduate studies in immunology at Purdue University before attending Iowa State Veterinary School. At Iowa State, he served as an officer in the Canine Club, ZEW club, and Pathology club as well as serving as the Safety Committee representative for his class. He has since gone on to complete a Master’s in Public Health from John Hopkins University.
Dr. Geneczko has been pursuing a veterinary career since elementary school when a wandering terrier decided to come home with him. He recently married in October, his wife and him have 4 dogs, 4 cats and a tortoise. They enjoy visiting the local geek and grub market, hiking and spending time with
their furbabies.
Laurel Causby, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Laurel Causby joined our team in 2008. She graduated from NC State CVM. She has been in veterinary medicine ever since she was a teenager.
Dr. Causby is very involved with her family, and also in her church Girls in Action program. She has many pets at home.
Jessica Loyd, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Loyd is from Nashville in Tennessee, but has worked in the area for quite some time.
She comes to us as a part-time associate veterinarian. We welcomed Dr. Loyd in December of 2022.
Rita Stevenson, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Stevenson joins the PAH team in March 2025. She grew up on Air Force bases in Utah, Alaska, and North Carolina. She attended N.C.State for her undergraduate and veterinary degrees, graduating from vet school in 2012.
Dr. Stevenson is a member of AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) and NCVMA (North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association). She has major interest in internal medicine cases but also values the importance of wellness care.
She and her husband, Nathaniel, and young daughter, Stella, share their home with many pets. Their animal family includes 2 dogs, Maeve and Walter, 2 cats, Po and Robin, 2 tortoises, Pistachio and Penelope, 2 crested geckos, Papaya and Pyro, a chameleon gecko, Piccolo, a bearded dragon, Pascal, and a blue tongue skink, Reggie. She enjoys gardening, landscaping outdoors and maintains a large indoor plant collection.
Ali Nimocks, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Ali Nimocks, DVM joins our team in November 2025. Dr. Nimocks grew up in Hamilton, NJ. She knew she wanted to be a veterinarian from the moment her vet showed her ear mites on a microscope at five years old!
She received her undergraduate degree in agricultural science, with minors in animal science and equine science from Rutgers University.
She went to Ross University, school of veterinary medicine, and did her clinicals at NC State. She graduated in 2015. She lives in Clayton with her husband, Brooks, their two little girls, and their Pitbull, Lilly. Her passion is in internal medicine and educating her clients in preventive care! When she’s not at work, she enjoys long walks with her girls and spending time out on the lake!

Larissa Simmons
Larissa joined our team in April 2019.
Natalie Warner
Natalie has been a part of our team since the doors opened in February 2003. She is a Registered Veterinary Technician that graduated from Central Carolina Community College, Veterinary Medical Technology Program in 2000. Natalie loves canine reproduction and is in charge of our Zoetis Canine Freezing Center. When she is not at work she loves to ride horses, enjoys live music, and spends time at the river with her family.
Brandy Weatherspoon
Brandy joined our team in August 2020. She has a passion for surgery and anesthesia.
Kelsey Huff
Kelsey joined our team officially in August 2012, even though she has been around since the doors opened in 2003. She has a love for dogs and is currently raising 3 beautiful Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers.
Elizabeth Long
Elizabeth joined our team in April 2021.
Kadysha Schoonmaker
Kadysha joined our team in 2022. She is currently a second-year vet student at NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Kaitlin Strickland

Hannah Burdette
Hannah joined our team in December 2023. She has a degree in Canine Obedience Training. She has worked with many dogs in her career. She is a vet assistant, but has recently become our Customer Service Team Leader.
