Leave Your Pet with Confidence at Plantation Park’s Caring Boarding FacilityBoarding your pet at Plantation Park comes with the assurance that if your pet falls ill while you’re away, our trusted veterinarians will be on hand to examine and treat your furry friend with the care and expertise you trust.
We have a strict boarding policy, that we only board for established pets. This ensures that we know your pet personally, and we have a client-patient relationship.
Our boarding area consists of 10 indoor runs, and a few small-medium kennels. We do not offer extended boarding. Our advice we be to check into activity-based camps or pet sitters.
Pets who are accustomed to having free access to their home, resting in familiar places, following family members room to room, and sleeping in their usual space, may experience a noticeable adjustment when boarded due to the unfamiliar environment. A boarding facility introduces new smells, sounds, and different daily routines. Many dogs adapt appropriately to these changes. However, some may find the transition more challenging, particularly if they are houses in a kennel and have scheduled times for outdoor breaks. Some pets thrive in structured social settings, while others may do better with added enrichment, anxiety support, or different are options, such as activity-based day camps, indoor-outdoor run accommodations, or in-home pet sitting. Please consider this when making your pet’s reservations.
Our facility operates in full compliance with the requirements of the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Board (NCVMB) for the boarding of animals. The following Program of Primary Care is maintained and enforced for all boarding patients.
Vaccination and Parasite Prevention Requirements All dogs must be current on Distemper/Parvovirus (DHPPC), Bordetella, and Rabies vaccinations. All cats must be current on Feline Distemper (FVRCP) and Rabies vaccinations. All boarding animals must have received a dewormer or had a fecal examination performed within the previous twelve (12) months, unless medically contraindicated and documented by a veterinarian.
Dietary Requirements Only commercially prepared pet diets are fed. All food must be provided in a sealed container and clearly labeled with the pet’s name.
Medication Administration All prescription medications must be provided in their original prescription containers with clear and legible labeling. Administration of all medications is documented in the patient’s medical record at the time of dosing.
External Parasite Monitoring All pets are checked for external parasites, including fleas and ticks, at check-in. If external parasites are noted, an approved flea/tick treatment will be administered at the owner’s expense, unless otherwise directed by the attending veterinarian.
Collars and Restraints For patient safety, all harnesses, pinch collars, prong collars, and electronic/shock collars are removed at check-in.
Environmental Temperature Control The boarding facility temperature is maintained in compliance with NCVMB standards and kept within a range of 50°F to 85°F.
Fire and Safety Equipment The facility is equipped with functional smoke alarms and carbon monoxide monitors, which are routinely checked to ensure proper operation.
Sanitation and Disinfection All kennels and accommodations are cleaned and disinfected daily using approved veterinary disinfectants.
Exercise and Elimination All dogs are taken outside to a secure, fenced-in area a minimum of two (2) times daily for elimination. Waste is removed promptly after each elimination.
Feeding and Dish Sanitation Any uneaten food is discarded after feeding. Food and water bowls are properly cleaned and disinfected before fresh food is offered daily. This Program of Primary Care is reviewed regularly and updated as needed to remain in compliance with NC Veterinary Medical Board regulations
We provide Purina EN Chicken and Rice dry food for all boarders who do not bring their own food.
If you bring your own dog food, please label it with your pet’s name and feeding schedule, and bring in a sealed container. Please note that we do not feed raw diets, or non-commercial diets.
Feel free to bring any comforts from home, such as towels, beds, and toys. We recommend bringing smaller, washable beds, as some larger ones may not fit in our washer and dryer.
If your pet is on any medication, please bring in the vial from the prescriber, not a sealed bag. We must know what drug and milligram your pet is receiving.

Your pet may be dropped off or picked up anytime during our business hours. We do ask that you come at least 30 minutes prior to closing, so we can gather your pet’s belongings in a timely fashion.
We also offer “Pamper Your Pet” services, which include:
